The library at NIT Srinagar supports teaching, research, and related programs with a collection of 68,248 documents which includes 74,769 books, 10,070 bound volumes of journals, 496 video cassettes, 36 learning resources, and 650 compact discs.
Additionally, 10,599 books in the reference section, 54,272 books in the stacks section, and 9,898 books in the SC/ST section, and it utilizes Koha, an open-source software, to manage book collections and patron data on their intranet.

Hostel

NIT Srinagar provides residential accommodation for its students and staff in hostels and staff quarters and there are eight boys’ hostels and two girls’ hostels, catering to approximately 2500 boys and 300 girls respectively.
Each hostel room is shared by two students and is equipped with amenities like computer rooms and reading rooms.

Sports

NIT Srinagar, students are encouraged to participate in games and sports for fitness and sportsmanship and provide numerous sports facilities.
The outdoor games including football, cricket, badminton, basketball, volleyball, kabaddi, and kho-kho grounds, and Indoor options like chess, carrom, table tennis, and a gymnasium are also available.

Placements

NIT Srinagar, the Training and Placement Department is dedicated to nurturing well-rounded professionals and committed to equipping students with comprehensive skills for success.
In the academic years 2022-23, more than 724 job offers were received, the placement rate was 95.74%, and the top offer reached Rs 36.5 LPA, while the median offer was Rs 10.48 LPA..

How To Reach

The Institute is situated on the picturesque banks of Dal Lake, and offers a scenic view of the renowned Hazratbal Shrine opposite Srinagar, the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir, approximately 9 km from the city center, and it’s easily accessible by road and other transport services.
The Institute from Jammu or Delhi is convenient via the Srinagar-Jammu highway, passing through breathtaking mountain passes, and the journey takes 7-8 hours by private taxi or car.
