Hostel
At SMVDU, all students are required to reside in the university hostels which are divided into four hostels for boys and two for girls.
Each student’s room comes equipped with furniture including a bed, table, chair, almirah (wardrobe), ceiling fan, and electric light.
In addition, hostels offer a range of amenities for students’ comfort and convenience that include designated study spaces, recreational areas, and high-speed internet available throughout the hostels.
Additionally, every hostel has a dining facility that offers delicious and hygienic food.

The university encourages a healthy lifestyle with its excellent sports facilities.
The Outdoor Games include a cricket ground, football ground, kho kho and kabaddi courts, as well as basketball, volleyball, and tennis courts.
Indoor games include multiple volleyball courts, rooms for table tennis, chess, and carom, badminton courts, two gym stations, and a kickboxing room.
Sports coaches/trainers lead coaching camps to help students improve their skills.

How To Reach
Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University sits nestled 40 km to the north of Jammu, amidst the picturesque Trikuta foothills and 14 km away from the holy town of Katra.
The campus is approximately 39 km from both the Jammu Bus Stand and Railway Station, while the closest railway station Katra, is a mere 14 km away and there are direct trains to Katra also available.
The journey from Jammu Railway Station or Airport to the campus takes about an hour by road.
