Library

The Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Learning Resource is a central library, that fosters intellectual growth for students, teachers, and researchers with fully computerized, and offers e-resource facilities to everyone in our community.
The library has a vast collection of over 115,240 items, including 115,925 books, 69 print journals & magazines, 5,768 bound volumes, 4,738 CD-ROMs, 23 databases and e-journals, 909 videos, 8,627 ISI code prints, 9,235 books in the general book bank, 9,497 books for SC & ST students, 152 IRC codes, 354 theses, 1,323 projects and dissertations, and 520 reports/annual reports.

Hostel

The Institute offers accommodation in eight Boys’ hostels and three Girls’ hostels, featuring Single, Double, and Triple-seated room options.Additionally, there’s a PG Boys’ Hostel with 300 beds and 106 flats for Married Scholar’s Hostel.
Each hostel has its own Mess Management Committee to cater to the dining needs of its residents.

Sports

NIT Silchar, the Gymkhana Students Union Body takes care of maintaining the sports facilities, ensuring in top shape for everyone to enjoy.
These facilities cover a wide range of sports including an athletic playground, football, cricket, hockey, Kabbadi, Kho-Kho, and even lawn tennis.Additionally, a dedicated Sports Complex is offering hard courts for volleyball and badminton, along with spaces for boxing, table tennis, chess, and carom.

Placements

The Training and Placement Cell (T&P Cell) helps students develop by assisting with training and job placements.The placement report for the 2023 academic year is yet to be released.
In the 2022–2023 academic year, received 690 job offers from 200+ companies, the overall placement rate was 89.40%, and the highest offered package was 80 LPA with an average package of 14.39 LPA..
