Infrastructure
The Institute is currently operating from a temporary campus in Aizawl, and the permanent campus is planned for Lengpui, Aizawl district, covering 190.35 acres.
The temporary campus includes 1 Administrative Block, 6 Academic Blocks at Chaltlang, an Innovation Hub, an Intellectual Property Cell, a Central Library, and hostel Blocks.
NIT Mizoram has a well-equipped workshop, modern laboratories with the latest software, and additional facilities including a Health Care Centre with a doctor, nurse, and FA, transportation services, a mini shop, and a canteen.

NIT Mizoram offers hostel facilities for students, there is one girls’ hostel and four boys’ hostels, and each hostel provides standard lodging and food, along with internet services.

The institute provides bus services for student commutes from the hostels, Ambulances are stationed on hostel premises for emergencies, there is 24-hour security and each hostel has a generator for power backup.

NIT Mizoram is located on a temporary campus, actively engages in cultural and sports activities, and rents playgrounds to conduct various outdoor and indoor sports like Cricket, Football, Basketball, Handball, Athletics, Kabaddi, Table Tennis, and Badminton.
An annual event named SHAURYA takes place in different localities of Aizawl, showcasing these sports activities.
The students participate in INTER NIT and All India Inter NIT Sports competitions, to the vibrant sports culture of the institute.

The Training & Placement (T&P) Office helps students find jobs after they graduate and also works with top companies and institutes to arrange internships and training programs for students.
In the 2022-23 academic year, 79 companies took part in the placement process, the average salary package offered was Rs 7 LPA, and 84% of the students were successfully placed.

NIT Mizoram is situated in Aizawl, the capital of Mizoram, surrounded by breathtaking scenery of clouds and mountains, and is conveniently located 464km from Guwahati, 169km from Silchar, and 321km from Agartala.
NIT Mizoram is accessible by private buses or Sumos from Guwahati and Silchar and takes about 24 hours from Guwahati and 20 hours from Silchar, the nearest railway station is Silchar 170km away; Shared taxis are available for a roughly 6-hour road journey to reach the campus.
The Lengpui (Aizawl) Airport is approximately 35 km from NIT Mizoram, and Pre-paid taxis are readily available at the airport, with fares ranging from Rs 700 to 800.
