Infrastructure

• NEHU has three campuses, the main campus is situated in Umshing, Shillong, the Tura Campus is located in Chandmari, and there’s also the Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Community College in Wahiajer, West Jaintia Hills District.
• The permanent campus in Umshing covers 1225 acres, is picturesque, gently undulating, and thickly wooded, and includes several residential quarters for the faculty, a hostel, and a modern workshop for the University Scientific Instruction Centre.
• There is a building for the Regional Sophisticated Instrumentation Centre, a Guest House-cum-Seminar Complex, and additionally, several buildings for the science departments.

Library

• The Central Library offers state-of-the-art computers and audio-visual equipment for both in-house and online services, and houses a vast collection of over 296,000 books and back volumes, along with 38,000 bound periodicals.
• It subscribes to 316 foreign and 366 Indian current journals; the library serves as a pivotal regional resource center for scholars involved in teaching and research and plays an integral role in supporting academic pursuits in this region.

• NEHU provides accommodation in 12 boys’ hostels with a total capacity of 1053 students, 11 girls’ hostels that can house 618 students, and there is an International hostel that accommodates 24 students.
• Each hostel at NEHU offers single, double, and triple-seated rooms, all equipped with furniture and ceiling fans, and is a self-contained unit with its own mess and common room.
• Common room facilities across the hostels include newspapers, magazines, indoor games, and color television, and some hostels also feature a gymnasium, Badminton courts, volleyball, basketball, and table tennis courts for recreational activities.
