NERIST’s library system comprises a central library catering to academic needs year-round, the collection of 65,291 books (both text and reference), 37,638 textbooks in the books bank, 2,633 unlimited access e-books, 94 journals, 139 DVDs, 10 magazines, and 10 newspapers.
The library is a member of the DeLCON Consortium, with access to over 800 e-journals, and can avail full-text e-journals through online access via DBT-DeLCON member institutions.
In addition, the central library has acquired 2,621 e-book titles as part of its membership in the E Sodh Sindhu (ESS) consortium and is fully automated through LIBYSYS LMS and equipped with an advanced RFID and security system.

Hostel
NERIST, there are 10 hostels – 8 for boys and 2 for girls, the girls’ hostels are situated within the residential area of faculty and officers, and all hostels are conveniently located near the academic blocks.
The Hostel Management Council (HMC) oversees hostel activities; each hostel has its own mess providing nutritious meals, uninterrupted power, and filtered water for drinking and cooking.
Within the hostel complex, there are ATMs, mini-shops, an indoor stadium, a lawn tennis court, outdoor facilities for basketball and badminton, and 24-hour security.

NERIST campus is located in Nirjuli, Itanagar, the capital city of Arunachal Pradesh, is about 20 km away from the city center and about 340 km from Guwahati, and can easily be reached by road, air, or rail.
There are daily overnight buses connecting NERIST to Guwahati and other cities like Shillong, Dibrugarh, and Dimapur, and the nearest railway stations are Harmuti Railway Station (15 km away) and Naharlagun Railway Station (7 km away).
