Infrastructure
- IIT Madras is a beautiful campus spread over 630 acres, is situated on 250 hectares of wooded land, and has 16 academic departments and advanced research centers.
- Smart classrooms and lecture halls are being centrally managed, and a Central Lecture Theatre with a capacity of 400, an auditorium, and Common research facilities with advanced instrumentation are being set up for students and faculty.

- The Central Library at IIT Madras is a modern, five-story facility equipped with air conditioning and WiFi, and serves the Institute community by offering a wide range of digital and printed resources.
- There are separate Reading Halls for Journals, Books, and References, and has a vast collection of over 2 million books and 1000 current journals, subscribes to 84 e-resources, catering to the information needs of over 16,000 members.

- IIT Madras, there are 20 hostels named after India’s rivers, 15 hostels are for male students, while 5 are for female students.
