Infrastructure

Library

The Central Library of IIT Kharagpur is one of Asia’s top technical libraries, offers modern facilities and a vast range of resources, and can accommodate up to 2,000 students at a time.
The collection of 4.2 lakh documents, 2.2 lakh+ e-books, periodicals, monographs, proceedings, standards, reports, microforms, also has CD/DVD-ROM databases and audiovisual resources.

Hostel

The IIT KGP campus has large residential complexes that house over 10,000 students, total 22 hostels out of 14 for boys, 6 for girls, and 2 for Research Scientists or Military Personnel.
Each hostel room is furnished, with different setups depending on the number of occupants, and all hostels provide regular catering services.

Sports

IIT Kharagpur, the Gymkhana is the central hub for extracurricular activities and boasts top-notch sports and gaming facilities for students.
The Campus houses two stadiums with fields for hockey, football, cricket, athletics ground, and in addition a modern aquatic center for swimming and water polo.
