• Established in 1939, the College of Engineering Attingal Thiruvananthapuram holds the prestigious title of being the first engineering college in the then Travancore state.
• Under the patronage of King Sri Chitra Thirunal Balarama Varma of Travancore, classes commenced on July 3rd, 1939, garnering recognition from the Travancore State President.
• Initially a constituent college of Travancore University, it began with modest enrollment, admitting 21 students each for degree and diploma courses in civil, mechanical, and electrical disciplines.
• Over the years, enrollment surged, and the college now accommodates around 4500 students with a faculty of 311 teaching staff and 290 non-teaching personnel.
• Hosting eight departments, it offers a wide range of academic programs, including eight undergraduate, 27 postgraduate, and doctoral courses under APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University.
