State Common Entrance Test Cell, Mumbai (SCET) or Common Entrance Test Cell, Mumbai (CET Cell) was established as per Section 10 under Maharashtra Unaided Private Professional Educational Institutions Act 2015. It has two divisions. One is the Admission Regulating Authority (ARA) and the second division is the State Common Entrance Test Cell (CET Cell). ARA is a decision making cell and CET Cell implements the decisions taken by ARA. CET Cell undertakes two major tasks, the first one is to conduct Common Entrance tests for Professional Education and the second one is to carry out Centralized Admission Procedure which is known as CAP Round. In short it means the process of college admission.

Candidature Type :-
(1) Maharashtra State Candidature :-
The Candidates having Domicile of Maharashtra State / School Leaving Certificate mentioning place of birth from Maharashtra / Birth Certificate issued by the Competent Authority from Maharashtra State are eligible for MS candidature.
(2) Other State Candidature (OMS) :-
The candidates having Domicile Certificate / Residential Certificate / Residence and Date of Birth Certificate issued from the Competent Authority other than Maharashtra State are eligible under this Category. Jammu and Kashmir Migrant Candidates will be considered as OMS candidates.
(3) Minority Candidature :-
The candidate belonging to a particular Linguistic or Religious Minority Community and belonging to the State of Maharashtra and as notified by the Government are eligible under this Category.
(4) Children of NRI :-
Children of Indian workers in the Gulf countries, Foreign National
(Note – These types of candidature are exempted from appearing for MHT-CET 2024)
(Note – It is mandatory to appear for MHT-CET 2024 for candidates belonging to Maharashtra State Candidature, Other State Candidature, Minority Candidature seeking admission to undergraduate courses in Agriculture University. But other Common Entrance Test such as JEE/NEET will also be considered equivalent to MHT-CET for admission.)
(1) Maharashtra State Candidature:
A Candidate can claim only one type of Maharashtra State Candidature Type i.e. from Type A to E.
Type-A
Candidates passing SSC and also HSC from a recognized institution in Maharashtra State (or) Candidate who is either Domicile of Maharashtra and / or is born in Maharashtra;
Type-B
A Candidate who does not fall in Type-A above, but who or whose
Father or Mother is domiciled in the State of Maharashtra and possess Domicile Certificate.
Type-C
A Candidate who does not fall in either Type-A or Type-B but whose
Father or Mother is an employee of the Government of India or
Government of India Undertaking and who has been posted and
reported to duty in Maharashtra State before the last date for submission of Application Form for CAP.
Type-D
A Candidate who does not fall in any of the above Type-A, Type B
and Type-C but whose Father or Mother is an employee or retired
employee of the Government of Maharashtra or Government of
Maharashtra Undertaking.
Type-E
Candidates passing SSC and/or HSC Examination from a recognized
institution located in a disputed Maharashtra Karnataka Border Area
and whose Mother tongue is Marathi
(2) All India Candidature:
The Candidates having Indian Nationality are eligible under this Category.
(3) Minority Candidature:
The Candidate belonging to a particular Linguistic or Religious Minority Community from State of Maharashtra and as notified by the Government are eligible under this Category.
(4) NRI Candidature:
The Candidate who fulfils the conditions as defined in clause (n) of
section 2 of the Act are eligible under this category.
(5) Foreign Student / OCI / PIO Candidature:
The Foreign Student Candidates, as defined in clause (i) of section 2 of the Act, the Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) candidate, as in under clause (p) of rule 2 and Persons of Indian Origin (PIO) as defined in clause (o) of section 2 of the Act are eligible under this Category.
(6) Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir and Union Territory of Ladakh Migrant Candidature.
(a) The children of citizens, who are displaced from Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir and Union Territory of Ladakh to any part of India or from unsafe border area of Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir and Union Territory of Ladakh to a relatively safer place in Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir and Union Territory of Ladakh from 1990 onwards due to terrorist activities (or)
(b) The children of officers belonging to Indian Administrative Services (IAS) or Indian Police Services (IPS) or Indian Foreign Services (IFS) and children of staff belonging to military and paramilitary forces transferred to Union Territory of Jammu and
Kashmir and Union Territory of Ladakh to combat terrorist activities and joined the post on or before the last date for submission of application for admission (or)
(c) The children of staff and officers of Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir and Union Territory of Ladakh police engaged in combating terrorism are eligible under this category.

(1) XIIth Std. passed in 10+2 pattern or an equivalent Examination with minimum 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Biotechnology and English taken together for Unreserved category and 47.50% marks in case of Reserved category candidate.
(2) The admission of candidate to B.V.Sc. & A.H. degree course shall be made on the basis of his / her merit in the National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (NEET-UG-2023) conducted by National Testing Agency, New Delhi
(3) The candidate should have completed minimum 17 years and should be below 25 years of age on or before 31st December, 2023. However, the relaxation of maximum age by 5 year shall be considered for constitutional reserved category candidates.
(4) English shall be the medium of instruction & examination for B.V.Sc. & A.H. degree course.
Note :
a) Qualifying examination shall be XII Std. or equivalent examination as specified in VCI regulation 6(b) such as CBSE or Indian School Certificate Examination with English (NCERT norms) and physics, chemistry and biology or biotechnology including practical test in these subjects or recognized equivalent there to by the Association of Indian Universities or by the appropriate authorities.
b) The candidates who have passed the XIIth Std. Examination / qualifying/ equivalent examination should have offered Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Biotechnology and English subject.
