Candidates should rank among the top 2,50,000 candidates(including all reservation categories) appeared in BE/BTech paper of JEE Mains.
Minimum 75% qualifying score in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in class XII (or equivalent) Board Examinations is required. For SC/ST/PH the qualifying score is 65%.
JEE Advanced Exam can be attempted maximum of two times only in two consecutive years after completing 12th examination.
Foreign national candidates, Citizen of India(OCI), Person of Indian Origin (PIO) candidates are also eligible to appear for JEE (Advanced) examination.

If any seat remain vacant under SC, ST and PwD category, it will be allotted to the respective category candidates for admission into a preparatory one year course by relaxing the admission qualifying cut off. After successful completion of one year preparatory course, they will be inducted directly into regular IIT course the following year.
The exam pattern for both papers, Paper -I and Paper-II changes every year. But both papers contains questions from Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
Type-I contains questions with four options in which one option will be correct.
Type-II contains questions with four options in which one or more than one option(s) could be correct.
Type-III contains questions with each question of Match List type.
Type-IV contains questions with single digit integer answer(0-9)
