• The Dental Wing started in People’s Medical at Humanyunagar in 1958.
• The first batch of 25 students enrolled for the BDS course in 1959.In 1979, the Dental Wing became a full-fledged Government Dental College and Hospital.Dr B Seshadri was appointed as the first Principal.
• The college was shifted to the Golden Jubilee Block of Osmania General Hospital in 1982.The number of BDS seats increased from 25 to 100 in 2013.
• Post Graduate courses were introduced in 1980-1981.PG seats were increased from 7 to 24 in various specialties by 2015-16.The college also offers vocational courses in Dental Technician/Dental Hygienist.
