DASA (Direct Admission of Students Abroad) Counselling is conducted every year for engineering and architecture courses in premier government institutions like NIT, IIIT, and other government funded technical colleges. Admission to Foreign Nationals/PIO – Persons of Indian Origin/ NRI – Non Resident Indians/ OCI – Overseas Citizen of India to undergraduate engineering and architecture programmes is being offered under DASA scheme by Ministry of Indian Education.

Association of Indian Universities (AIU) recognizes below foreign examination as equivalent to +2 qualification of an Indian Board. If your qualification is not listed below, they you need to get an equivalence certificate by applying to AIU
IIIT, NIT and many premier technical institutions provide close to 4300 NRI quota seats in various branches given below. One third of NRI quota seats are reserved for Children of Indian Working in Gulf Countries(CIWG). If CIWG quota could not be filled, it will be reverted and filled with NRI candidates.

Countries under CIWG are United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, Oman, Iraq, Iran, and Saudi Arabia.
Candidates who got seat allotment through both JOSAA and DASA are required to surrender one seat within the stipulated time frame as per the counselling schedule. The retained seat allows continued participation in the Special Round of CSAB/DASA. Failing to surrender either seat after the withdrawal period may lead to the cancellation of both allotted seats.
